Review Policy

As of September 2021, I am not considering any unsolicited requests for book reviews.

***

I focus on feminist and multicultural writing, especially immigrant fiction. Do get in touch with me if you think your work fits my interests. I may be contacted at niranjana (dot) iyer (at) gmail (dot) com. Please note that I charge a reading fee for full-length blog reviews. The fee is for my time and energy spent in reading the book, and does not guarantee a positive review!

I do not review poetry, prescriptive non-fiction, chick lit, erotica, thrillers or inspirational/religious work. As of 2018, I’ve begun focussing more on Young Adult and Middle Grade writing. I usually do not review books I dislike, as I prefer to spend my energy promoting work I admire 🙂

Please note that I  do not usually participate in promotional book tours. I do not conduct author interviews for my blog; I publish them in Bookslut. Authors I’ve interviewed include Minal Hajratwala, Camilla Gibb, Sheela Chari and Saladin Ahmed. (Update: Bookslut has now ceased publication 😦 ) I sometimes write feature articles about authors for Herizons, a Canadian feminist magazine. Canadian authors I’ve interviewed include Nalo Hopkinson, Dorothy Palmer, and Ava Homa.

Please do not send me review requests on FB–they are hidden by the program filter, and I do not get to see them ever.
